I have a M.S. Meteorology from Penn State University. My thesis and research concentration was Meso-scale Convective Complexes and meso-scale vortex development. Worked five years for Weather Research Program in Boulder Colorado before joining the Army.

My profession is a U.S. Army Major with a specialty in logistics. Jobs have included Platoon leader, Company Commander, Battalion Executive Officer, Operations officer and Analyst for a Joint Logistics test, and brigade logistics officer.

Sailing is my favorite hobby. I started sailing on a 9' Turn-a-bout at about age 8, competed expert class on Hobie 16 catamarans achieving 3rd place for the region in the early 80's. I currently own a Potter 19 and a Tender Behind dinghy. Other boats I've owned is several canoes, a 13' sailing dory, and a 16' rowing shell. I enjoy building small wooden boats.

Interest include military technology, weather, sailing and boat building, photography, sciences and early American history.
