[edit] The Lynx
The Lynx was built as a blockade runner in Fells Point, Maryland, by Thomas Kemp. She had a very short privateering career and was captured by the British at the start of her second run from the Chesapeake to France. She then promptly entered British Naval service as a revenue cutter, was renamed Mosquidobit, and was stationed in Nova Scotia. She was later sent to England and her lines were taken off on May 10, 1816.
[edit] The Modern Day Lynx
The current Lynx is an interpretation of this vessel and was launched in 2001 in Rockport, Maine. She was built by Rockport Marine and designed by Melbourne Smith. (Smith also designed the Californian, the Pride of Baltimore, the Brig Niagara, the Spirit of Massachusetts and the Federalist.)
