Lynne made herself invaluable throughout the majority of Paul Williams' (Doug Davidson) detective career, as secretary, researcher and comic relief. Championed by Paul's mother, Mary (Carolyn Conwell), she always had a crush on Paul, and they dated in the early years of her being his secretary. The only thing that was revealed about her past was that she was once a rape victim. She and co-worker Marissa Barton (Marissa Arena) were friends.

In 2003, Lynne worked to reunite Paul with his ex-wife Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell) by helping Mary and Christine dig up dirt on Paul's then-wife Isabella (Eva Longoria). In doing so, Mary and Lynne broke into Michael Baldwin's (Christian LeBlanc) office, but were caught digging through his files. Michael dropped the charges. Later, when Isabella appeared to have been murdered, Lynne and Mary were suspects. But it turned out that Isabella was not dead, but was setting up Christine to look like a murderer.

Williams Investigations closed down and Paul joined Michael and Christine as an investigator at Baldwin, Blair and Associates. Lynne went to visit her mother during the move, and has not been seen since.
