Lynn Jenkins

Lynn Jenkins (born June 10, 1963) is a Kansas Republican politician and currently the 37th State Treasurer of Kansas. She was elected to the office in 2002 and re-elected in 2006. Prior to holding her current position, she served in the Kansas House of Representatives and the Kansas Senate.[1] On April 4, 2007 she announced that she has filed papers with the Federal Election Commission as a first step of running for Kansas's 2nd congressional district.[2] Her primary opponent will be former Congressman Jim Ryun, who served five terms before being defeated by current Congresswoman from the 2nd district, Nancy Boyda.
Jenkins is a sixth-generation Kansan. She was raised on a dairy farm in Holton. She is a graduate of Kansas State University and Weber State College. Jenkins has a degree in Accounting with a minor in Economics. She has been married to her husband, Scott, for 24 years and they have two children, Hayley and Hayden.
