Lynn Grove VA High School is a Voluntary Aided comprehensive school with 888 children on roll of between 12 and 16. It is located in the town of Gorleston near Great Yarmouth in Norfolk. The school was originally constructed as one main block which has been extended as well as other blocks. The modern foreign languages block, sports hall and new dining hall are the newest additions. The building work for accommodation for Year 7 pupils began in December 2006; the car park will be made larger, classrooms added to the north face of the building and an extension to the current structure. A state of the art library has also been opened recently with brand new computers and equipment.[1]

[edit] BBC Newsday

The School has been in many BBC Newsdays where for one day a group of students will become professional news reporters. The students involved are trained in certain areas depending on their job e.g. If they were going to be a sound engineer they would be taught by Chrostoph Ruda, the school VLE Coordinator and ex sound engineer how to record good clear sound.

[edit] Motto and houses

The school's motto, Fidelitas in Parvis, is Latin for Fidelity upon Child although the school always said it meant Attention to Detail which is actually 'Intentio ut Retineo'. There are currently four houses in the school; Martin, Nelson, Cavell and Paget. The houses compete in sporting events in and between schools.
