Lyng, Norfolk

Lyng is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It is situated on the River Wensum, some 10 km north-east of the town of East Dereham and 20 km north-west of the city of Norwich.
The civil parish has an area of 7.99 km² and in the 2001 census had a population of 806 in 338 households. For the purposes of local government, the parish falls within the district of Breckland.
St. Margaret's Church and The Fox and Hounds (local public house) are located closer to the river with the shop located in the middle of the village.
The Fox and Hounds public house has recently been reopened by new owners after a period being closed.
Lyng also has a Motocross track which holds the British Motocross Championship annually. The track is located to the south of the village.
