Lyndhurst Secondary College

Lyndhurst Secondary College, is a Co-Educational secondary school, located in Cranbourne North, Victoria, Australia, which is approximately 40 KM South East of Melbourne. Founded in 1988, it's name was Cranbourne Meadows Technical School. Consisting mostly with male teens, 'Tech' schools where around, which boasted hands on classes, and where more popular with male students and students ongoing apprenticips. Cranbourne Meadows Tech. consisted maily in Technical Classes, such as Automotive, Textiles, Wood & Metal Work, Ceramics, Home Economics and more. It latter changed it's name to Lyndhurst Secondary College. This was due to many tech schools being closed.

Lyndhusrt consists of around 1100 students from Year 7-12.

The College’s vision statement states; “The Lyndhurst Secondary College community is committed to providing a safe, challenging and stimulating learning environment which champions individual differences, excellence and integrity in order to develop open-minded citizens capable of contributing confidently and responsibly to an ever-changing world.”

The School Colors are based on uniform colors, Blue and White. Otherwise, during sporting activities, students are broken down into 'houses' (Teams, Colors) The colors are, Red - Hale, White - Sayers, Green - Kettner, Gold - Flintoff.

Lyndhurst Secondary College Consists of Many School Facilities Library Resource Centre Lyndhurst Secondary College has a well established Resource Centre (LRC) with approximately 15,000 books. This centre offers students "state of the art" equipment and software, including Internet access and CD ROM. It also has a wide range of reference books, magazines, audio visual materials, CD ROM and Internet facilities.

LRC staff provide research, reference and loan services to students and LSC staff. All Library operations are fully computerised allowing for high accuracy and efficiency in daily operations, and maximum support for student’s research activities.

Technology Wing The Technology Wing is fully equipped with automotive, woodwork, electrical, electronics and engineering facilities.

Networked Computers Students have access to "state of the art" equipment and software, including Internet and CD ROM.

Literacy/Learning Support Centre The Learning Workshop was established to ensure that students at LSC who experiencing some form of learning difficulty have access to additional resources and staff support to help them achieve success in their studies.

Senior School Complex This complex was designed to enable senior students to have many of their classes and facilities in the one area. The complex comprises classrooms, Computer Room, and the office of the Senior School Coordinators.

Gymnasium and Drama Centre The college has a fully equipped gymnasium and Drama Centre

Bicycle Compound Students are encouraged to ride their bicycles to College along the cycle paths provided by the City of Casey. Helmets must be worn. Bicycles are kept in a secure compound. Helmets are stored in lockers. All bike riders have to wear helmets by law. Students who wish to ride their bicycles to Lyndhurst Secondary College will not be permitted to do so unless they comply with this law.

Locker Compound Students are provided with a locker that is in a secured Sub School Locker Compound. Students are expected to keep their books and sports gear etc in this locker. The compound is opened for student access both prior to and at the conclusion of each teaching session. Combination locks are purchased from the General Office.

Canteen A well run and extensively stocked canteen is available for students. The canteen is open before school, at recess and lunchtime. Hot food is available in the morning.

Office Hours College office hours are from 8.15 am to 4.30 p.m. Our friendly office staff give help, assistance and support to staff, students, parents and administration of the College.
