Lynda Baquero

Lynda Baquero (born 1967) is co-anchor of News 4 New York at 6 with David Ushery on WNBC-TV in New York. She previously anchored NewsChannel 4 Live at 5 with David Ushery and before that at 6 with Chuck Scarborough. She became co-anchor in September 2003 after serving as weekend co-anchor since 1998. She also was co-anchor of Weekend Today in New York from 1996-1998. She joined WNBC in 1995 as a general assignment reporter. Before WNBC she worked as a daily news anchor and consumer reporter at New York 1 News since 1992. Before that, she worked at WCBS as an assistant producer in consumer action news segments. Born and raised in Manhattan, she is of Puerto Rican descent. She lives with her husband and 2 daughters in Manhattan. Her TV experience started when she hosted her own public access show "Youth in Focus" in the early 80's. She got interviews with Duran-Duran, Menudo, local celebrities and news makers. That started her passion for journalism.
