The student population is 97% white, 2.2% Asian/pacific islander, and 0.8% African-American and Hispanic.[citation needed] The mean SAT scores this year were 562 in the verbal section and 545 in math.[year needed]

Lyme-Old Lyme High School is a member of the Shoreline Conference as well as the CIAC. It currently offers the following Sports: Cross Country, Football (Co-Op w/Valley Regional High School), Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Fencing, Gymnastics, Ice Hockey (Co-Op with St. Bernards High School), Indoor Track, Baseball, Crew, Softball, Golf, Lacrosse, Track, and Tennis.

There is a rich music department at LOLHS.[citation needed] Band is offered and directed by Mr. Jacob Wilson, III and the choral department is directed by Mrs. Kristine Pekar. Many of the students participate in after school music programs such as Jazz Band and the annual musical and play. Additional music electives are offered.

Lyme-Old Lyme High School was recognized as this year's outstanding school at the Shoreline Arts Awards.[year needed]

[edit] FIRST Robotics Team

Lyme-Old Lyme High School's FIRST Robotics Team 236 has won five Connecticut Regional Chairman's Awards. The team, nicknamed "The Techno-Ticks," is directed by Mr. William Derry.
