[edit] Scout

You said:

Yes, Scout was missing, that's a given, but the details in the newspaper article are incorrect. Those statements were from a rent a cop not the P.D., and well, we all know how the media misconstrues things. The general public does not know the details. I'm all about the truth, but what's been said isn't and it is not for anyone to discuss except Scout, when she is ready. I fail to understand why it needs to be posted, as it's not relevant to her career. As for her birth name, it has been changed legally to Scout, and the removal of her birthdate is for safety reasons. I ask that you consider how this non-truthful article is affecting Scout.

For the time being, I'm going to assume that you are Taylor-Compton's mother as you claimed in this edit. If you're familiar at all with the internet then you realize that I have no way of knowing who you are and you have no way of proving this to me. That being said...
First of all, as to the matter of your daughter's birth date, a person's birth date is a matter of public record along with a person's driver's license, marriage license, and death date. Her date of birth can be found with a simple Google search on literally dozens of sites. It is on the TV.com page linked off of her article here and with the popularity of the Internet Movie Database, combined with the exposure that your daughter has been getting with the amount of work that she's had lately, I'm sure that it will be on IMDB.com soon as well. Let's face it, your daughter is becoming somewhat of a celebrity, for whatever that's worth and whatever that means, thus people in this country will for whatever reason want to know more about her. If they don't find the information here then it is a short trip to Google, IMDB, or TV.com to find out what they want to know. As for the Wikipedia policy on this, I refer you to Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons#Privacy of birthdays.
Second, as far as the "truth" to the runaway articles in various news publications and such, while it's unfortunate that news people don't get facts right, we can't help it. If it really bothers you so much, deal with the news people and get them to print a retraction or correction. Meanwhile, we will continue to link to those articles and describe what they reported because it's the information that can be verified. For Wikipedia policy on this, see WP:VERIFY. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia and thus can only write about what has been reported on already. It's just the nature of an encyclopedia as a tertiary source. I direct you now to Wikipedia:No original research which explains this.
Third, due to the fact that we can't verify who you are and due to Wikipedia's policies on original research and autobiographies, whether you say the news stories were true or not cannot be used for verification. I mention the second because as her mother, you would thus be biased in favor of your daughter.
And finally, if you would like to make changes to any of these policies, go ahead and try to get them changed. As a user of the Wikipedia, you are invited to shape it. But continuing to just blank out what you don't like is not the way to get anything accomplished.
Now for my personal thoughts, blanking out what you don't like or agree with is, in my opinion, childish to just say "I don't like this bit, I'm just going to take it out." I would hope that if a paper encyclopedia like Britannica were to write an article about your daughter that you wouldn't go to every library that you could with a permanent marker and strike out the bits that you didn't agree with or want known. That would be destruction of property and thus illegal. Though that is what you have been trying to do here.
So, if you have any other questions or concerns that you'd like to take up with me, please feel free to respond either here or on my talk page like you did earlier today (well, after looking at the clock it's actually yesterday). For now, I hope that you and your cohort please try to go on according to the policies of this encyclopedia.
