Lydie Denier (born April 15, 1964 in France) is a model and actress of European descent, but raised in Martinique. She has appeared in several roles in numerous TV series and films.

Born in Saint-Nazaire, in Metropolitan France, Denier was raised in Martinique attending school at the Lycee Shoelcher in Fort-de-France, Martinique. When she was 14 she became a model appearing in magazines like Vogue and ELLE among others. She began to travel the world when she was 16 years old, spending time in Africa, the Caribbean, and Germany. There she had a record deal with Polygram as a ballad singer. She came to Los Angeles on vacation and decided to stay and pursue an acting career. She began appearing in videos and commercials while she refined her English skills and studied acting.
In 1988, she had her first feature film appearance in the U.S. in Bulletproof with Gary Busey. She went on to a moderately successful run with recurring appearances in several TV series, most notably General Hospital, The Flash, The Ellen Burstyn Show, Starman and others.
In 1991, she had another big break when she was cast as Jane Porter for the series Tarzán. She also impressed director/producer Zalman King who cast her for a leading role in Wild Orchid II and for some appearances in the Red Shoe Diaries series. She continued acting also in several films alongside Drew Barrymore, Martin Landau, Cynthia Rothrock, Teri Garr, Kathleen Quinlan, and others.
In 1996, after appearances in Silk Stalkings, Tarzan: The Epic Adventures, Conan, and other films, she was selected to lead the cast of the new season of the short-lived series Acapulco H.E.A.T., playing a sophisticated agent/spy that reorganizes the team for new assignments. She also starred in The New Adventures of Robin Hood.
Most recently she has had appearances in shows like Spin City, Gilmore Girls and just finished two new films set to be released in 2006.
