"Lycanthrope" is a song by the band +44. It was originally aired on the band's official website in late 2006, giving fans their second taste of new music from the band, after the airing of the rough mix version of "No, It Isn't", also on their website. It is the first single by +44 to be released in the UK and has been released on 7" vinyl. It was ineligible to chart in UK Top 40 because it came with a free sticker.
The December 2006 Issue of Alternative Press wrote this about the song:
“ |
HOPPUS: I love the first line of the song, it says "I wake up at the end of a long, dark, lonely year/it's bringing out the worst in me." And it just starts; there's no intro, no build-up-it just goes. BARKER: I think it's a great introduction. There isn't one song we could start with that would reveal what the whole record sounds like. This keeps you guessing about what's to come. |

The song is also featured on the Tony Hawk's Project 8 soundtrack.
