According to the non-retroactive copyright law of July 10, 1952, of the People's Republic of Poland, all photographs by Polish photographers published before the law was changed on May 23, 1994 that are without a clear copyright notice are assumed to be in the public domain.

This image was uploaded in good faith using the above tag: however, it may be reassessed under the United States copyright guidelines if it was first published on or after January 1, 1923 (see United States Code: 17 U.S.C. §104A).

It would seem unlikely that this photo would have been first published in the US after 1923, and it seems absurd to require proof that it was not. How could one establish such proof? This level of scrutiny is over the top. -- Mwanner | Talk 02:42, 28 October 2006 (UTC)
