Luz Nereida Vélez (born 1956) is a television reporter from Puerto Rico. She was born in Mayagüez. She has a younger sister named Yolanda Velez. Her parents are Samuel Velez and Carmen Nereida Rosado the latter lives in New York while Mr. Velez lives in Lajas. Her father is a Korean War POW.
Velez joined Noticentro 4 in the late 1970s, right out of college. She soon became an anchor-woman and began to be assigned to important news coverage. Vea, Teve Guia and other publications also made articles that covered her family life and work.
Velez still works for Noticentro 4.
