Luvua River

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Luvua River is a river in the Katanga Province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It flows from the northern end of Lake Mweru on the Zambia-Congo border in a northwesterly direction for 350km to its confluence with the Lualaba River opposite the town of Ankoro. The Luvua and Lualaba rivers are part of the Congo River system. On its lower course below the town of Kiambi, the Luvua is navigable by shallow-draft boats for 160km. However, it contains rapids on its middle course.
