Luvanmusiq is the fourth studio album by Musiq Soulchild, the first under his contract with Atlantic Records. The lead single, "B.U.D.D.Y.", was released to U.S. radio in late November 2006; it has since reached number two on the R&B chart[1], and number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100[2]. The album leaked into the internet on March 8, 2007. Following its release, it debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200, with 149,774 copies sold.[3] During that same week, the second single "Teachme" debuted on the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at number 54, and rose to number five in its thirteenth week. "Teachme" also debuted on the Hot 100 at number 92 on the issue date of May 26, 2007.[4] As of July 11, 2007, the album has sold 456,377 copies in the U.S.[citation needed] The third single from the album was "Makeyouhappy", first said in an entry on his MySpace blog. [5] The song has already debuted on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-hop Songs chart, peaking at #61.
The album was nominated for Best R&B Album at 50th Grammy Awards.
