It was released on August 13, 2002 for Def Jam Recordings and the Universal Music Group, featured production by The Neptunes and featured vocals from Marc Dorsey. Luv U Better was a huge success, peaking in the top five on three major Billboard charts, it peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100, #1 on the Hot Rap Singles and #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs.
