[edit] Song information

"Luv" was written by Rodney Jerkins, Dernst Emile, Tasleema Yasin and LaShawn Daniels and produced by Rodney Jerkins and Dernst Emile. Released to radio on February 11, 2008, it was the third U.S. single and second UK single from Discipline.

As the single has not a videoclip, and due to the very low promotion given on radio stations and on TV, the song failed to chart in the United Kingdom.

[edit] Reception

[edit] Critical

In reviews of Discipline, All Music Guide described "Luv" as "carrying a brisk, feel-good clap-and-bounce",[2], while Newsday said the song "grooves along like it could have come from Ciara's album, aside from a few trademark Jackson harmonies."[3]

[edit] Commercial

"Luv" peaked at #34 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, making it Jackson's 43rd Top 40 R&B hit[citation needed].
