[edit] Basic Stats
Name: My name is Blayne White and in recent years I have made an effort to consolidate all of my on-line activity under the name "Luthwyhn". If you've seen the name elsewhere it was almost certainly me, as so far as I know the name has no legitimate meaning or linguistic basis. While on-line I am highly unlikely to respond to "Blayne" unless I know you personally from so-called "real life". On the other hand, I will respond to Luthwyhn in spoken conversations, more likely than not.
Gender: I am a male.
Age: I was born on December 18, 1983, and am therefore currently 23 years old.
Location: I was born in, raised in, and am currently still living in Tallahassee, Florida, in the South-Eastern corner of the United States of America.
Education: I am presently a graduate student at Florida State University, having graduated in mid-December of 2006. My major area of study is Computer Science, though I have minors in Mathematics and Chinese Language and Culture. I also have near-minor levels of formal schooling in Physics, Religion, and History. A noteworthy area in which I lack any formal schooling, as many of my areas of interest relate to the subject, is Linguistics. I graduated from The School for Applied, Individualized Learning, better known as SAIL High School, in 2002.
Career: I have no noteworthy work experience in any field. My primary long-term goal, however, is Video Game Programming and/or Design. This has been the case since approximately the age of seven.
[edit] Interests and Hobbies
I am an avid player of video games, particularly (but not exclusively) those on dedicated game consoles. I have a noteworthy bias towards Nintendo, as well as one against Microsoft. My favorite system is the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. My gaming habits cover nearly every genre, but my primary areas of knowledge are in J-RPGs, Tactical Strategy Games, and older Side-Scrolling Games.
I am also quite fond of board games, considering myself a competent casual Chess player, as well as a self-instructed novice and huge fan of both Shogi and Go. Some of my other favorites include Monopoly, Risk, Diplomacy, Kingmaker, and Trivial Pursuit.
Second only to gaming is my love of anime. While I can be found watching shows from a broad spectrum of genres and topics, I usually prefer either more subdued slice-of-life-ish or otherwise subdued styled comedy (such as Azumanga Daioh) or comedy based upon heavy usage of parody and non-sequiter humor (such as Pani Poni Dash!). Aside from the two already mentioned, some of my favorites include Planetes, Ah! My Goddess, Sakigake!! Cromartie High School, Yakitate!! Japan, and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
