Lutter am Barenberge is a town located in the district of Goslar in Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated approx. 13 km (8 mi) northwest of Goslar.

The town was founded by Otto I in 956, and in various times, was part of Braunschweig and Hildesheim. In 1626, Tilly defeated Christian IV's troops in a rout that changed the course of the Thirty Years' War.
Lutter am Barenberge is also the seat of the Samtgemeinde ("collective municipality") Lutter am Barenberge
