Lutheran High School South

Lutheran High School South is a co-educational, private, Lutheran school serving approximately 600 students in grades 9 through 12 who live in St. Louis, Missouri, and the surrounding areas. Lutheran South perennially sends upwards of 98% of each graduating class to post-high school educational experiences.

Students at Lutheran South can earn college credit through more than 200 courses offering either dual credit through Saint Louis University or the opportunity to take Advanced Placement exams. In addition to a wide variety of elective courses, students take theology classes each year. Daily worship experiences and service opportunities are also part of the Lutheran South experience.

In the 2006-07 school year, Lutheran South has 552 students served by 51 professional staff, including teachers, counselors and administrators. LHSS has a very diverse co-curricular program, including 39 athletic, cheerleading and dance squads; intramural activities; drama presentations; the Messengers, a worship-through-drama group; a FIRST Robotics team; a mathematics team; mock trial; academic games team; ceramics club and an award-winning student council. Lutheran South is particularly known for its music program. Three choral music groups, two of them audition-based, and three instrumental groups, two of them also audition-based, utilize the gifts of nearly one-third of the student body.
