Lurex (in particular Lurex3) is a brand of mosquito attractant recommended for luring the Asian Tiger Mosquito (Aedes albopictus) into mechanical mosquito traps. Studies have shown that Lurex catches almost three times more Asian Tiger mosquitoes than octenol, the most common mosquito attractant in use today. Lurex is made of natural compounds that simulate human sweat.
