Luray is a city in Russell County, Kansas, United States. The population was 203 at the 2000 census.

Luray is located at 39°6′50″N, 98°41′29″W (39.114003, -98.691413)[3].

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.8 km²), all of it land.

As of the census[1] of 2000, there were 203 people, 105 households, and 57 families residing in the city. The population density was 665.1 people per square mile (252.8/km²). There were 134 housing units at an average density of 439.0/sq mi (166.9/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.54% White, 0.49% Native American, and 1.97% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.49% of the population.

There were 105 households out of which 17.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.8% were married couples living together, 8.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 44.8% were non-families. 42.9% of all households were made up of individuals and 21.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 1.93 and the average family size was 2.59.

In the city the population was spread out with 16.7% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 21.7% from 25 to 44, 25.6% from 45 to 64, and 31.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 51 years. For every 100 females there were 75.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 76.0 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $25,208, and the median income for a family was $32,500. Males had a median income of $19,375 versus $21,563 for females. The per capita income for the city was $18,351. About 6.9% of families and 7.9% of the population were below the poverty line, including 17.1% of those under the age of eighteen and 5.7% of those sixty five or over.
