[edit] Early career
As she grew older, she started to gain momentum in the Mexico's entertainment industry. She first sang in Mexicali, B.C., and was such a success that her two song set turned into ten song showcase. That night, a star was born; music producers along with film directors contacted Lupita]] to offer her roles and contracts. However, Lupita traveled to the big city, Mexico City, in search of a record deal under her own terms. She released her first professional recording with GAS Records. Lupita promoted the LP by booking appearances at Mexico's biggest television shows like "Siempre en Domingo" and in the United States, the ever popular "El Show de Johnny Canales". In the United States, Lupita was touring with Mexico's premiere legends like Vicente Fernández, Antonio Aguilar, Juan Gabriel and Joan Sebastian.
[edit] Film career
After a couple of years in the music industry, Lupita had an offer she could not refuse. She was offered roles to star in movies. This was a departure for her since her first love was music. Like music, the film industry was a successful avenue for Lupita since she was making movies with Mexico's most elite producers and actors. Lupita has worked with more film legends than most actresses today never accomplish, for example: Mario Almada, Sergio Goyri, Rafael Inclán, Juan Valentín, and Jorge Rivero. Her movie credits include; "El Rey De Los Tahures", "El Sinaloense", "La Carcel De Laredo", "La Contrabandista", "La Hija Sin Padre", and "Maldita Miseria". A movie currently in production should be released within the next year, tentalively titled: "Lucianna, la Venganza".
[edit] Famous friends
Lupita’s career has been filled with accomplishments and accolades steering clear from scandal and publicity stunts like many of today's singers and actresses. Even though she lives far from Mexico City, at times she works with famous artist from Mexico like, Lorena Herrera (a scuffled with Herrera was reported after a Cinco De Mayo performance at a Palm Springs casino), Lupillo Rivera, Federico Fernandez, Ezequiel Pena, and Pepe Aguilar. Castro left Mexico for good in 1985 and relocated to California where she makes public appearances at store openings, galas, fundraisers and Hispanic events. She lives in the Palm Springs area where other fellow Celebrities live which include Barbara Sinatra, Berry Gordy, Suzanne Somers, Rita Rudner, Tyler Hilton, Aubrey O' Day, Bill Gates and Julia Roberts. Castro has been spotted at El Paseo, the Coachella Valley's Rodeo Drive, and has cause a fan and paparazzi frenzy in January of last year which landed her in Mexico's TV Y Novelas pages.
