Lupinus succulentus is a species of lupine known by the common names hollowleaf annual lupine, arroyo lupine, and succulent lupine. It is a bushy legume which sends up tall inflorescences of fragrant, bright purple flowers. It bears stiff green pea pods which contain yellow beans. The leaves are arranged in a palmate pattern. This species is found in California and Arizona, and into Baja California. It is commonly seeded on roadsides in California by Caltrans.
