[edit] Request for edit summary

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

[edit] Carlos María Cardinal de la Torre questions

Hi. I'm currently working on repairing links to disambiguation pages. In the Carlos María Cardinal de la Torre article that you are the main contributor to, it was unclear to me whether the word "evangelical" should link to evangelism or evangelicalism. Can you suggest which would be more appropriate?

Also, there is currently a suggestion that the page should be merged with Carlos Maria Cardinal de la Torre, which appears to be a more recent article about the same person. You may want to comment, and/or be bold and merge the two?

Thanks. Paddles TC 08:19, 16 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Tyldesley

The unforgiveable thing about your creating Tyldesley, Greater Manchester was the fact that you did it using a copy&paste instead of a move command. I have now reverted the move and merged the edit histories. Given that the vast majority of links to Tyldesley refer to the place, I feel that the town article should be on the main title and the people should be banished to a dab page. I suggest you discuss on a talk page before attempting another move.

As a general point, please start to provide edit summaries. -- RHaworth 19:48, 6 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] DYK

Updated DYK query On 4 April 2008, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article 1950 Australian rainfall records, which you created or substantially expanded. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page.

To be clear, this is in regards to the POV-pushing redirects I had to delete today. xenocidic (talk) 14:12, 12 June 2008 (UTC)
