Luodong, Yilan

Luodong (traditional Chinese: 羅東; pinyin: Luódōng; Wade-Giles: Lo-tung) is an urban township in the central part of Yilan County, Taiwan. Its name derives from the Taiwanese aboriginal word Rutung/Lutung, meaning "monkey". Luodong is famed for its large, beautifully landscaped sports park.

Luodong has a large night market containing all the local food. The area can be polluted at times but many people still chooses to walk within the area. It has a large community which organises dance clubs and recitals for the elderly of Luodong.
There is a second park in Luodong which is more family oriented than the sports park.
