LunarStorm

LunarStorm is a commercial, advertisement financed Swedish social networking website for teenagers, operated by a company called LunarWorks. According to the company's official statistics, the website has 1.2 million members, of whom some 70% are 12-17 years old. [1] [2]
The predecessor to Lunarstorm was called "StajlPlejs" (i.e. "Style Place" transcribed to Swedish spelling), which started around 1996. Lunarstorm officially opened on January 1, 2000 with a sun rise period with a launch party on the 5th of May.
The company has made attempts to start up similar services in Denmark and the UK, but both those sites were closed during 2007.
In 2007 LunarWorks launched an international social & photo sharing community called Bilddagboken
