Image title | ABOARD USS BOXER, At sea (Mar. 03, 2007) - A series of images taken from USS Boxer (LHD 4) show the moon during a full lunar eclipse while the ship is conducting operations in the Arabian Gulf. The eclipse was fully visible in this portion of the world and only partially visible in the rest of the world. Boxer is the flagship for Boxer Expeditionary Strike Group which is currently operating in the Arabian Gulf conducting Maritime Security Operations (MSO) in support of U.S. 5th Fleet. MSO help set the conditions for security and stability in the Arabian Gulf and protect Iraq's sea-based infrastructure to help provide the Iraqi people the opportunity for self-determination.
