Luminiţa Ruxandra Solcan

Luminiţa Ruxandra Solcan is a Roman-Catholic Romanian woman who, at the age of 36, became infamous for killing Frère Roger of the Taizé Community on August 16, 2005. She had been diagnosed a schizophrenic.[1]
At Frère Roger's funeral, in the opening words by Frère Alois (Frère Roger's successor), she was mentioned and forgiven[2] in the following passage of the prayer:
“ | God of goodness, we entrust to your forgiveness Luminiţa Solcan who, in an act of sickness, put an end to the life of Brother Roger. With Christ on the cross we say to you: Father, forgive her, she does not know what she did. | ” |
