Lumban is a 4th class municipality in the province of Laguna, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 25,936 people in 5,456 households. Lumban has an area of 96.8 square kilometers, the fourth largest in Laguna.Lumban is the home of the famous Lake Caliraya, a man-made lake often visited by nature lovers and sportsminded people.

Lumban is one of Laguna's oldest towns. It got its name from "lumbang" tree. The province's capital town, Santa Cruz, as well as Cavinti and the famous Pagsanjan, were once part of Lumban. Lumban is also known as the "Embroidery Capital of the Philippines", fine Jusi and Piña cloth are being embroidered by hands, finished product are worn by male as Barong Tagalog and Saya (Filipiña) by Female, it is also being exported and worn by westered people. Various products are also made using this type of cloth. It is where Lake Caliraya is situated. It lies 104 kilometers southeast of Manila, the capital of the country.
