Lukovdol

Lukovdol is a small village located in the Gorski Kotar region of Croatia, about one mile south of the Slovenian border. Lukovdol has an area of 5.91 sq. km. As of 2001, there were approximately 157 people living in Lukovdol; the population is comprised of about 60 households: 47.8% women and 52.2% men. Local industries include cattle raising, lumber processing, and textile products. It is the birthplace of Ivan Goran Kovačić, Perhaps Croatia's most famous poet
