Luke Manor (Luke Mõis) is one of the oldest estates in Estonia. It is situated in the Nõo community, in Tartu, in the Estonian heartland.
[edit] History
It was first mentioned in 1557 and is believed to have been established by Johann von Löwenwolde in 1299. The main building has been destroyed twice, first during the Livonian War and again during World War II. The last owners of Luke Manor were the Knorring family and it was managed by the Lestal family.
[edit] Today
Today, Luke Manor is one of Tartu's best maintained parks. With cascading ponds, decorative elms and a lime-tree labyrinth, visitors are enchanted by the grounds. Recently, the manor complex, gardener’s house, pond with a series of cascades, and small pavilion have all been restored.
