Luis Raven

Luis Raven (Born: November 19, 1968 in La Guaira, Venezuela) is a former outfield prospect who reached as high as AAA in the Anaheim Angels and Florida Marlins farm systems. He threw and batted right-handed, was 6'0" tall and weighed 185 pounds. Perhaps his two best seasons in the minors were 1994 and 2000. In 1994, he hit a combined .304 with 31 home runs, 116 RBIs and 11 stolen bases for Midland and Vancouver combined. In 2000, with the Calgary Cannons, he hit .274 with 24 home runs and 81 RBIs. Perhaps one thing that kept him from reaching the Majors was his lack of discipline at the plate: in 1994, for example, he struck out 139 times and walked only 27 times.

Currently, Luis Raven plays for the Navegantes del Magallanes of the Liga Venezolana de Béisbol Profesional. His 2006 season has not faired him well. He hit .183 in 115 at-bats (as of 12/28).
