Luis Giannattasio Finocchietti (1894-1965) was an Uruguayan political figure.

Giannattasio was an engineer by profession and a leading member of the Uruguayan Blanco (National) party.

In the 1950s and early 1960s he served as Minister of Public Works.

He became President of Uruguay in 1964, succeeding his National Party colleague President Daniel Fernández Crespo.

[edit] 1965: Death in office

In 1965 Giannattasio died in office shortly after attending in official capacity the funeral in London, England, of Sir Winston Churchill [1].

He was succeeded as President by Washington Beltrán, also of the Blanco (National) Party.
