Luis Carlos Vélez

Luis Carlos Velez (October 6, 1977 in Bogotá, Colombia) is a Colombian journalist that is working in CNN en Español.
Velez graduated in the University of the Andes although he studied in Harvard University and in the London School of Economics too. He is specialized in administration and management.
He began his career in Citynoticias of Citytv, the television channel of El Tiempo newspaper. After, he worked for Enron as a financial analyst in Houston, Texas. In 2003 he returned to his journalistic career and joined as international editor and Chief of Correspondents in Caracol Television.
In 2004 he was appointed director and presenter of Portfolio TV, the first program about economics and business of Colombia in Citytv. He was directing and presenting the information system of Citynoticias, in Bogotá En Punto too. In 2005 he was appointed news presenter and producer of CNN en Español. He is responsible of the economy and business programs of CNN en Español. At his young age, he interviewed many famous people like Condoleezza Rice and Donald Rumsfeld.
From July, 2007, he presents Agenda Ejecutiva. A monthly program of CNN en Español.
