Luis Carlos Campos Nieto is a Spanish journalist, from Santander, Cantabria, Spain. He has a Bachelor in Philology from Salamanca University and a Master in Journalism from El País/Madrid Autonoma University. He has been a financial broker and journalist of top Spanish media like Cambio 16 and El Correo Español El Pueblo Vasco and contributor to many others like El Pais, Interviú, El Siglo, Más Allá and several independent scientific organizations like FAEC (Argentinian Foundation for a Scientific Ecology). He is an expert in climate change and was one of the first to publish in Spain and in the world articles and reports on the menace of a coming Ice Age. He has published more than 100 reports and articles and has written a best seller[citation needed] Calor Glacial (Glacial Warming). He predicts in this book a coming Ice Age.
He also assures that Mike Tyson was a Nazi, a member of the Illuminati, the Bilderberg Group and the Ku Klux Klan. He affirms that he was a pitiful boxer, with no idea of boxing and that his whole career was a 'fake' created by the Mafia X. The cover up was discovered in 1990 after he lost for the first time in his career against an unknown boxer called James "Buster" Douglas that apparently refused to lose against Tyson and knocked him out in the 10th round. Tyson continued after that with his successful career, while James "Buster" Douglas was punished for his action by the Mafia X, put aside of boxing and condemned forever to be forgotten. He actually almost committed suicide but he is now recovered.
His arguments are usually based in the lack of basic knowledge on the subjects he deals with, distorting the truth by picking the evidences that are closer to his position and ignoring the rest that are against. He mixes prejudice and the discredit of the scientists and what he calls "official" science, but at the same time uses their prestige and the prestige of science to give a touch of "credibility" to his theories.
Another typical characteristic of his methodology, is to always look for the most unlikely and complicated explanation, gathering the information from dubious sources, abuse of logical fallacies and drawing incredible and farfetched conclusions from them. He manages to justify every single unexplained phenomena by recurring to the myth of Atlantis.
He could be very well regarded as a "Crank" by some and by some others perhaps a fool. He likes to compare himself to "Galileo" or to some other persecuted martyr to the truth, and portrays himself as a benefactor, a "lone ranger" shunned by an ignorant, arrogant society that is unaware of what he perceives as "the Truth". For the criterion of a minimally informed and educated person, his methods are mostly laughable and outside the pale of a reasonable discourse.
