Luis Camnitzer

Luis Camnitzer is an Uruguayan artist and Professor Emeritus at University of the State of New York. He lives in New York.
Camnitzer was born in Germany in 1937, but grew up in Uruguay. He studied architecture and sculpture in Uruguay, and sculpture and printmaking at the Munich Academy. In 1964 he moved to New York, where he taught at the State University of New York at Old Westbury, New York.
He has had many solo and group exhibitions in the U.S., Latin America and Europe since the 1960s, being an internationally acclaimed artist and theoretician, having written frequently for several art publications.
