Luigi Fontana is a sculptor. The statue of St. Philip of Aggira which is on proud display in the Żebbuħ Parish Church is one of his main works of art. It was created from silver for which the Żebbuġ locals collected fervently.

He lived for a time in Argentina with his wife where he had a son, Lucio who is also a sculptor.
