[edit] Expanded page

Apologies in advance, this is the only time I've tried major changes to a wikipedia page--and it's a subject I'm hazy on to boot.

My additions are mostly cribbed straight from the German wikipedia page. Unfortunately, my German is rusty, my familiarity with Achim von Arnim limited to enjoying "Der tolle Invalide" and "Owen Tudor", my ability to translate "terms of art" non-existent, and I'm vague about the wiki mark-ups, too. So this will definitely need some cleanup, but hopefully it's a step forward. At the top of my list would be the proper translation for "Tischgesellschaft" (means "table society," literally) and for "Erzaehlung" (literally narrative, I did story, maybe "short story" is more appropriate?). Also could use (some?) references from the German page.

I assume someone will want a citation for "one of the important German romantics", which is reasonable. I'm not going to be able to find one though--it's from the German wikipedia page, and I pretty much assume it's true since we wouldn't have read him in my one "German romantics" class if it wasn't.

I'll come back and touch up the various mark-ups later, when I have time to make sure I won't screw anything else up. MajorDobbins 22:11, 22 May 2007 (UTC)
