[edit] Transgender

Per the biography of living persons guidelines, controversial statement that are not backed up by sources may be removed immediately. If you wish to add Silveira to the Category:Transgender and transsexual musicians, it must be sourced. -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 13:55, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

That couldn't be easier, I challange you to find an article about the Cliks that's dated 2007 and doesn't mention that Lucas is a transman. The presumption that this is "controversial" is borderline offensive. -- AvatarMN 07:12, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Don't I know it! The same situation would be true, though, about Paul Lynde (if he were still alive). BLP states you can't put a person in an LGBT category without a reference. Go figure. Anyway, thanks for finding the source! -- SatyrTN (talk | contribs) 22:03, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Incorrect assertion

"Silveira is the first openly transgender or transsexual person signed to a major music label."

What about Wendy Carlos? She's been recording for DECADES and while I don't think it was plastered all over the front pages, I don't think she's done anything to hide the fact she was born Walter. I can't think of any other examples offhand, but surely there must be other examples.

And so this sentence is removed. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.167.136.139 (talk) 17:36, 19 November 2007 (UTC)
