Lucy Meacock

Lucy Meacock (born in 1959) is a British television news presenter.
Educated at Ursuline Convent in Chester she then moved to Australia where she attended Morongo Girls College in Geelong, Victoria. After returning to England, she attended Upper Chine School in Shanklin on the Isle of Wight.[1]
Meacock has worked for BBC Radio in Newcastle and Tyne Tees Television, before moving to London to work for BBC Television where she presented London Plus in the 1980s.[2] She then worked for Anglia Television.[1] She has been the main female presenter on Granada Reports on Granada Television since 1990. On 31 March 2006 Meacock interviewed the United States Secretary of State, Condoleezza Rice on Granada Reports.[3]
She has also chaired the Granada TV late night discussion programme, The Late Debate as well as co-presenting Granada Upfront, a live regional debate programme with Anthony Wilson.[1]
In 2001 Meacock won two Royal Television Society awards for the Manchester Bomb Programme and the Organ Retention Scandal Debate.[1]
In 2007, Meacock took up an occasional presenting role for ITV News and began presenting some ITV Weekend News bulletins. On May 26 2008, Meacock presented all three of ITV's main national news bulletins: the ITV Lunchtime News, the ITV Evening News, and The Late News.
