[edit] Career

Lucy Diamonds began her career as a controversial hip-hop/rap artist before making a spiritual u-turn prompting her to direct her talents to Christian music. After a long and misunderstood confrontation with Jay-Z, he and Lucy have finally made amends. Regarding the situation, Diamonds was quoted saying (from Ballerstatus.com), "At the time I felt like Jay-Z had played me. We were talking about a possible business venture and it seemed like it was getting pretty serious. Then he found out I was working with Amil, and all of a sudden I hear that he signed Lady Sovereign. So I was like Jigga what? Jigga, who did you sign? I felt like lashing out. I had no business saying the things I did. I have never met his mother and I had no right to disrespect her. I want people to understand that these things happened a while back, and all of them happened before I was saved, so to anyone I may have disrespected, I offer my sincerest apologies and ask that you can forgive my behavior. According to the scriptures, when we put on the new self we have to put to death the old self and its habits. It’s literally a new life."

Lucy Diamonds has recorded music with Amil (former Roc-A-Fella), Aasim (Bad Boy Entertainment), Grand Puba, Paolo Rustichelli, Benny Reid (Concord Music Group), Geenome, Teddy Riley, Sabrina, Focus (Aftermath Entertainment) and Roc Raida among others. Lucy Diamonds will be releasing her highly anticipated debut album titled: "Jonathan Hay Presents: 9 Rooms in the Black Hotel," executive produced by Jonathan Hay, in the forth quarter of 2008.

To this day Lucy remains very modest towards all the comments and opinions fans have made about her being one of the most beautiful women in the entertainment industry. In response to the constant praise for her beauty, Lucy has been quoted as saying,

"I know how this business would like to market me, but from day one I wanted the focus to be the music, not the look. Women shouldn’t have to exploit their appearances for a profit and those who do, do so because their music can’t carry them."
