Luckytown

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Luckytown is a 2000 film starring Kirsten Dunst, James Caan and Vincent Kartheiser.

[edit] Plot

When she turns 18, unhappy Lidda Daniels leaves Southern California to look for Charlie, her father, a professional gambler who abandoned her years before. On her way to Vegas, she picks up Colonel, a video store clerk whom she finds attractive even though they've never spoken.

This film is most notable for containing perhaps the worst filmed poker scene in the history of the medium. In the "big hand," James Caan and Robert Miano face off against each other. The drama is lessened because one of the player is plying five card draw while the other is playing 7-card stud, in the same game.
