Lucian Bute (born February 28, 1980, in Pechea, Galaţi County, Romania) is a Romanian boxer now living and fighting out of Montreal, Canada, best known for winning the IBF championship at super middleweight in 2007. Bute was born in Galati, but raised in a small town in Galaţi County named Pechea.

As an amateur, Bute won the bronze medal at the 1999 World Amateur Boxing Championships in Houston, Texas and the Gold Medal at the 2001 Francophone Games.

At a height of 6'2" and an arm length of 27.5", Bute has a professional record of 22 wins (18 KO's), 0 losses and 0 draws. He is the IBF super middleweight champion. Bute is trained by Stéphane Larouche, who also trained former world champions Éric Lucas and Leonard Dorin.

On June 15, 2007, Bute faced super middleweight contender and former Olympian Sakio Bika at the Bell Centre in Montreal in an elimination bout for the IBF title. Bute beat Bika by unanimous decision (116-111, 118-109, 118-109). Bute got his shot at the IBF super middleweight champion Alejandro Berrio on October 19, 2007. Bute beat Berrio via TKO in the 11th round. With this victory, Bute became the third Romanian world champion, Leonard Dorin and Mihai Leu are the other two.
