Lucas Secon (known musically as Lucas) is a Danish-American Grammy and MTV-Award nominated musician best known for his 1994 song "Lucas With The Lid Off" from his album Lucacentric'. He has helped sell over 20 million records, many of them going gold,platinum and multi-platinum in US/UK and Europe .Lucas has produced over 150 songs for majors in US/UK and 9 whole albums.

Signed to Uptown Records by Andre Harrell, Lucas debuted in 1990 with the album To Rap My World Around You. In 1992 he signed with Atlantic Records and moved into the public eye with the release of his 1994 album Lucacentric, a much more jazz-influenced work than his previous effort. Lucacentric went top 10 in at least 10 countries and was top 30 on the US charts. The music video for his single "Lucas With The Lid Off", directed by Michel Gondry, earned a Grammy nomination for Best Music Video, Short Form[1] and a MTV Video Music Award nomination for Best Male Video[2] in 1995. The video features a very distinctive and memorable style, being shot in one take among a variety of different sets. It was voted #4 best video of all time by MTV US.[citation needed]
Lucas won Spin Magazine's Golden Poets Award for his poem "The Ice Age"(from 150000 entrances)}}, which became a song on To Rap My World Around You.
After Lucacentric, Lucas has primarily worked as a writer and producer. He produced and cowrote "Leave it Up to Me", the Aaron Carter featured lead single from the animated movie Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.100 million dollar grossing Academy-award-nominated film.

Lucas is currently producing and writing 5 songs for new Def Jam US artist Pixie. He is also writing and producing for the 20 Million $ budgetted and worldwide hip-hop animation project Freefonix, scheduled to air on TV worldwide in 2008.Records and DVDs to follow. Lucas is producing Sugababes for Radio 1 album July 2007. He is also working on Sugababes' new album arriving October 2007,and has just cowritten the song FLASHBACK with Cutfather&JayJay&TIa for Randy Jackson's fothcoming album, featuring the cream of urban talent from USA.He is working with Cutfather/jayjay and Soulpower on rapper Mercedes' debut album due 2008,contributing many songs.
Lucas and Cozi Costi just wrote the official song to go on THE BIGGEST CLUB INSTRUMENTAL in UK,Europe called BE by Laidback Luke and Steve Angello. Lucas and Cozi currently writing on David Guetta's joints. Lucas just finished a song for Interscope Records US' new supergroup,The Paradiso girls. Lucas also has 2 cuts on Island/Def Jam US' new group,Velvet Angels.
Freefonix,the tv series about an animated hip hop group,is the 2nd most watched on British tv about to go worldwide. 2 Million hits on website in the first month..Lucas did 7 tracks. Pussycat Dolls just cutting new Lucas/Wayne Hector/Jayjay/Cutfather song for 2008 album on Interscope Records. Lucas' father, Paul Secon, is perhaps best known as the founder of Pottery Barn. He also worked as a songwriter for Nat King Cole, The Ink Spots, and The Mills Brothersand many more. His mother, world-renowned Danish artist Berta Moltke, was the head of the Danish Academy of Arts for several years and has exhibited around the globe for the last 35 years. Lucas' son, Fabian, debuted as an MC at age 3 on the Lucas-produced record "Fabian's first beat" (Atlantic Records UK, 2002).[citation needed] Fabian made his professional acting debut in July 2007,taking the lead in a summer musical called "The House Fairy" at The Magic Eye Theatre, London. He got a standing ovation after every performance.
