Luc Nijholt (born 29 July 1961, Zaandam) is a Dutch footballer who played for Swindon Town in the early 1990s. Nijholt also played for Motherwell helping them win the 1991 Scottish Cup. In 1993, he joined Swindon for a fee of £175,000.
During his time at Swindon, Nijholt was widely regarded as a vital part of Swindon's Premier League side and one of the greatest defenders the premier league had ever seen and also played as a holding midfielder. His Premier League wondergoal earned his team a point against Manchester United and will live long in the memory of Swindon fans.
After leaving Swindon, Nijholt joined Volendam and later retired, becoming manager of Stormvogels Telstar in 2005. Since then, Nijholt has frequenty been linked to returns as manager to both Swindon and Motherwell, but has failed to secure either post, remaining with Stormvogels Telstar.
His son is Gianluca Nijholt.
