Luan Tingyu
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Luan Tingyu (栾廷玉) is a fictional character in the epic Chinese novel, the Water Margin. In the novel Iron Arm, Golden Sabre, he is portrayed as being a younger martial arts brother of Zhou Tong, the military arts tutor of Song Dynasty General Yue Fei. They (and Sun Li) learn martial arts from a Shaolin master named Tan Zhengfan.[1]
Luan was the chief military instructor of the Zhu Family village - who was trying to capture Chao Gai and his Liangshan bandits for the government bounty - and was nicknamed 'The Invincible'. Luan was once fellow students with Sun Li, so Sun Li had no problem entering the Zhu Family Village to act as a spy for the Liangshan heroes. The Zhu Family village was eventually defeated by the Liangshan heroes, who co-ordinated well from inside(led by Sun Li) and outside(led by Song Jiang).
