[edit] About disambiguation pages
The point of a disambiguation page is not to list every possible definition or use of a particular word in the English language; disambiguation pages are meant to assist a Wikipedia user in finding an existing page whose topic is (or could be) the actual word used in their search query.
Before adding a topic to this page, ask yourself:
- If you were looking for this topic on Wikipedia, would you simply and only type "lu" as your search word?
- Are there people who might refer to your topic by only using the word "lu"?
Please see Wikipedia:Disambiguation and Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages) for more info.
[edit] Edits to page on Apr 1, 2008
Having said that, these are the edits I made to this page:
- Removed any red-links or references to topics which do not have articles of their own and lack coverage elsewhere in Wikipedia
- Removed entire "Translation" section which included the definitions of the word "Lu" in various languages; these do not belong on a disambiguation page. See: Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages)#Foreign languages.
- Removed links to topics which simply included the word "lu", but where not specifically on the topic of "lu", (ex: LU decomposition and "Singapuri Lu"). It is doubtful that a person would simply type "lu" in an attempt to find a page on one of these specific topics
- Removed references such as the "ISO country code of Luxembourg", "the IATA code of LAN Express" and "the ISO 639-1 code for the Luba-Katanga language" for the same reasons
Certainly if anyone disagrees with anything I've removed they can feel free to place them back on this page.Marchije (talk) 04:38, 2 April 2008 (UTC)
