Founded in August 1983 as LTS Lufttransport Süd AG & Co Fluggesellschaft did not begin operations until May 1984 using Boeing 757 aircraft. The original color scheme was white fuselage with a dark blue cheatline over the window line with light blue in the underbelly and tail with the name LTS on it. Flights began promptly in May 1984 but only a month later the only aircraft in the fleet was damaged in a hail storm, In 1985 and 1986 two more 757s were acquired and by 1987 the color scheme was changed to reflect the colors of the parent company, LTU and the name on the fuselage was changed to LTU-SUD. In 1997, LTU-SUD was merged into LTU and stopped flying as an independent airline. [1]
